How to Build a Stable Business Online

It's easier than ever to start a business, but how do you maintain one? We're talking today about how to build a stable business online as a personal brand. You want a successful business so you can do more of what you love, but when you see so many people come and go, you might wonder how to build a successful business that lasts.

 

Do you have a stable business online? 

My name is Amanda Bentow from AmandaBentow.com and I help personal brands grow and thrive online. Look, there is a major misconception that you can just get on social media and post a few times and suddenly start selling your stuff. People post like five times and then they're discouraged that they haven't sold anything yet. And the thing that really keeps me awake at night is seeing those people who are successful in social media, but they have very shaky business because they have no way to actually hang on to those customers. Should their social media account go down or some other problem come up. They just have built a very shaky business.

I'm going to give you three things you need to start out building a very stable business online, but first, this is your obligatory reminder to go ahead and subscribe and hit that bell so you can be notified the next time I post a video. I mean, we wouldn't want to go a video without that reminder, would we?

Look, while the socials are incredibly powerful, they are not the main tool that you need to build a stable business online. Why? Well, I'm sure we all know someone who has had their account hacked, stolen, or frozen by whatever social media platform, and as soon as that happens to you, you realize that there is no way to get ahold of anyone who's able to help you. The best way to build a stable business online is to create your own brand on your own platform. So I'm going to give you the three elements that I would start with if I were starting over.

The Three Things You Need to Build a stable Business Online

1. Landing page

The first one is a landing page. This is just one webpage that allows people to go in, sign up for whatever free thing that you offer. It should be really valuable content that helps them move the needle in a short period of time.

It could be a PDF, a video, a collection of your best content, but whatever valuable information that they can sign up for it and have that delivered to them for free in exchange for their name and email address.

2. Email List

And that leads us to number two, which is our email list. This is the place where you can continue to add value and build a relationship with your audience. And this is one you control by the way, so you're not relying on the algorithm or account access or any of those things to make sure that you are able to deliver your message to your audience in a more reliable way. So time-sensitive offers, call reminders, just good old regular communication so that you can stay in touch with your audience. This all can be delivered via your email list.

3. Your Offer

And number three is your offer. And this doesn't even have to come right away, but at some point you'll want to sell something.

And there are many brands who build up their audience first before they ever unleash the thing that they have to sell. This is a really great opportunity and it's a great way to not only collect feedback from your audience, but to make sure that what your message is is resonating with your audience. That way you're marketing products and services all relate directly to the problems and the desires of your audience and that leads to higher conversions.

You'll soon want a more robust website rather than just a landing page and you'll eventually want a professionally designed visual brand. Think logos, colors, fonts, all of that pulled together for a more professional brand. But those are things that can come as you get up and running and as you start to build.
